Facebook Shuts Down Massive Trucker Groups Across Multiple Countries

(NewsBroadcast.com) – Canadian truckers recently drove across their entire nation to Ottawa: their country’s capital. The rally is to protest vaccine mandate rules imposed on truckers by the government. Inspired by this bold move, a group of truckers in the United States began organizing their own rally. However, Facebook just deleted the group, which had more than 130,000 members, saying it violated the social network’s policies.

On Wednesday, February 2, Facebook shut down the group “Convoy to DC 2022” that was organizing a truckers rally to drive from California to Washington DC in March to protest COVID-19 vaccine mandates. The social media giant also reportedly deleted the private account of the organization’s leader, Jeremy Johnson.

Newsmax shared more about censorship effort on the part of the Big Tech company:

According to reports, Facebook claimed that the page was “repeatedly violating our policies around QAnon.” However, the group’s co-organizer Brian Brase emphasized that is “not true.” Even though the group is no longer on Facebook, it plans to continue planning its protest of the vaccine mandates in the US, and may even move the rally up in time. Group organizers hope this will allow the federal government to truly see “what the American people want.”
