Nancy Pelosi's Chances of Getting Reelected Revealed

(NewsBroadcast.com) – After serving 18 terms in the House of Representatives, many Americans believed Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) would retire soon. However, the 81-year old Democrat recently announced that she will run for re-election this year and continue her lengthy career in politics.

On Tuesday, February 1, Pelosi posted a video alerting her followers she will be seeking re-election this year, hoping for a 19th term in the House. She declared that “nothing less than our democracy is at stake” as 29 other House Democrats have already announced they are not seeking another term this year. Democrats are clearly nervous about losing their House majority during the 2022 midterms. Acknowledging this uncertainty, Pelosi emphasized that Democrats “don’t agonize, we organize.”

Newsmax shared more about Pelosi’s latest move:

While Pelosi is running for re-election in her district that overwhelmingly gave her 78% of its vote in 2020, this does not mean she will necessarily run for House Speaker again. If she does, she may face pushback from multiple other, younger Democrats who are ready for new leadership of the Left. Of course, she could also put in a bid for the White House in 2024, although most polls believe she would have a very slim chance of achieving such a thing. For now, it seems Pelosi is likely to be in the House in some capacity for at least one more term.
