Jetsetters Meghan and Harry Make Bold Promise to Have Net Zero Emissions by 2030

(NewsBroadcast.com) – Many famous people use their influence in the world to raise awareness for certain causes, ranging from orphaned children in Africa to refugees fleeing oppressive regimes and several points between. For the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, their cause seems to be climate change. The jet-setting duo just committed to get both themselves and their foundation down to net zero emissions by 2030.

On Tuesday, November 2, Archewell, the organization that runs the Archewell Foundation, Archewell Audio, and Archewell Productions, committed to reaching net zero emissions within the next nine years. The news release shared how the foundation was joining its founders, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, in their own commitment to carbon neutrality, as well.

GB News journalist Cameron Walk shared a link to the company’s statement on Twitter:

While cutting down on one’s carbon footprint is a valiant task, this announcement brought the couple’s popular choice to travel by private jet into question. At one point in 2019, the couple traveled by private jet four times in less than two weeks, creating an enormous carbon footprint at the drop of a hat.

So, as Meghan and Harry commit to doing their part to save the planet in the coming years, the world will be watching their every move. Will they give up meat, plane travel, and start using a clothesline to dry their outfits, or will they take the easier route and simply pour money into carbon removal projects to counteract their emissions? Only time will tell.
